Effective February 1, 2010, the start time for the afternoon call-out by the automated dispatch system (ADS) will change from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Monday to Friday.
This change was initiated by our secondary colleagues and makes good sense. The system was not generally having any difficulty filling most jobs by 8 p.m., so a half hour later start would not cause any filling problems. It will however, allow most of our members to safely return to their homes to receive calls for future work dates. This could help us avoid the challenges of taking ADS calls on cell phones; there have been issues with call waiting and now the legal need for hands-free devices.
We trust you will find this minor modification to the ADS call-out both helpful and beneficial.
