Inspire and Inquire

Presented by ETFO

This dynamic new ETFO workshop series focuses on inquiry-based learning in the primary division (grades 1 through 3). The series will explore the inquiry-based learning process, student engagement, collaboration and innovative thinking. Workshop participants will gain the skills and confidence to implement new approaches to teaching and learning that place students’ questions, observations, creativity and thinking at the centre of the classroom learning experience. A light supper will be served.

Interview Workshop

Come and learn how to be prepared for LTO and Contract Interviews. In this hands on workshop learn the questions you may be asked, how to formulate answers and practice with your fellow Occassional Teachers!

Backpocket Picture Book Lesson Plans

Presented by: Leslie Downie
In this practical, hands-on workshop Leslie will present several pictures books along with lesson plans and activites for various grades with the intent that the occassional teacher can keep these thier "back pocket" to use in case of emergecy. At the end of the evening each participant will receive a copy of the books.

One of the focal points for the Ed. Tech. Team this year is Office 365. Beyond Outlook email there are LOTS of other resources including: One Drive cloud file storage/sharing/syncing, Sway (great new application for making presentations), Office 2013 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote) as well as many other NEW online resources.

Join us to keep your technological skills current. A survey will be sent early in January for you to choose areas of interest. A light supper will be provided.



GEDSB OT members may attend a professional learning conference/seminar related to their specific interest and needs including gender specific programs.
